Saks Fifth Avenue

New York, NY

A Show That Engages Everyone

Right across from the iconic Rockefeller Center, Saks Fifth Avenue lights up one of New York’s most famous corners each holiday season. Spanning an entire city block and rising eight stories tall, the building’s façade transforms into a breathtaking light show that turns heads and stops traffic.

The display floods your field of vision with color, movement, and sound. Featuring over 700,000 LED lights, synced to a custom audio track and powered by more than 8 miles of cabling, the installation is one of the largest and most spectacular holiday shows in the world—simply impossible to ignore.

Year-Round Planning, Overnight Magic

American Christmas begins working in January to make the magic happen. It takes a dedicated team of over 150 professionals—including master sign hangers, riggers, electricians, lighting designers, engineers, systems experts, infrastructure specialists, and passionate creatives—to bring Saks’ Christmas vision to life. For two months, the installation takes place overnight, using street closures and heavy rigging equipment to stay on schedule.

A Celebration for All to Enjoy

The goal has always been simple: to spark joy and wonder in everyone who passes by. The show runs every 10 minutes from 5 PM to 11 PM, from mid-November through January 3. It’s Saks’ Christmas card to the world.
