Bloomingdale’s x Burberry Holiday Scarf
59th Street, NY
The Vision
Burberry's CEO Joshua Shulman had a dream: wrap one of New York City's most iconic facades in the brand's signature check — and bring it to life in holiday lights. The result was "Happy Together," a landmark holiday installation that transformed Bloomingdale's Flagship store into a statement of fashion, craft, and seasonal spectacle.
The Installation
- 200 feet wide. 90 feet tall. Wrapping the building's corners along Lexington Avenue
- 126,000+ LED lights and 1,000 feet of red neon illuminating the Burberry check pattern after dark
- Printed mesh visible by day; a full luminous display by night
- Fringe-finished ribbon tails referencing the iconic Burberry scarf — complete with a branded tag
Our Role
American Christmas, in partnership with AMA Electric Sign Company, fabricated and installed the entire display — turning an ambitious creative vision into a precision-executed reality on one of the most visible facades in New York City.
For our team, this was more than a project. It was a career-defining milestone rooted in years of envisioning exactly this kind of marriage between iconic branding and holiday spectacle. Collaborating across disciplines — with Burberry's creative leadership, Bloomingdale's, and a talented network of partners — made the process as remarkable as the result.
The Reveal
The installation launched at a star-studded event on November 19th, featuring a live performance by Raye and remarks from Bloomingdale's CEO Olivier Bron and Burberry's CEO Joshua Shulman.
The Recognition
As Burberry's Michael Catalani noted, this was a celebration of collaboration, craft, and the power of storytelling. The installation went on to earn the WindowsWear Heritage Award — a fitting honor for a project that set a new bar for holiday brand activations in New York City.
